Business IT Support & Computer Consulting Interacting With Your IT Support People We all know the stereo types, nerds, geeks, bottle glasses, pocket protectors and most of all they dont communicate! Who are we talking about? IT Support people of course. The truth is, in the real world, people that cannot communicate well do not last long. Take a moment to realise that Business IT Support is a service industry and as such we are often at the pointy end of peoples frustration. Also understand that while the problem may appear simple, the solution can quite often be quite complex and require some research and planning. At Creydall systems, we get around much of this frustration by ensuring that the support desk is never overloaded and clients are not kept waiting on hold. Our highest priority is to keep up the lines of communication, and ensure you are never left guessing as to how your particular problem is progressing.
The last three Computer Consulting Companies were useless! We occasionally hear this and alarm bells immediately start ringing. Everyone can have a bad experience with a less than honest IT company, but three in a row and you have to start questioning if expectations need some readjustment. The business I.T support & maintenance scene in Adelaide is quite small, most people know or at least know of other businesses in the same industry. For an industry that is not regulated, most I.T support businesses will rather do you a good turn than a bad one. They are also run in the main by hardworking, dedicated individuals. When we hear the above statement, it usually means the potential client generally has expectations that cannot be met, so is constantly disappointed, or has a poor view of technology in business and is continually frustrated by problems, but won't spend the money to fix those problems.. We keep a stash of competitors business cards handy for this situation. Its A Mail Server, mail comes in, it goes out, how hard can it be? Its common for people who are not experienced with computers to have an oversimplified view of IT Maintenance. The above statement was made by a receptionist, we thought it was an instant classic. Often people are flabbergasted by the time it takes to conduct IT maintenance. It can easily take 6 to 8 hours to get a PC or notebook to a point that is acceptable to the client. Ironically this problem is exacerbated by working on older computers. To combat this problem, many computer consulting businesses refuse to work on Computers older than X number of years, this is a good strategy because in many cases, a new computer will be only slightly more expensive than the time spent re-building an old one. Remember hardware is cheap, labour is expensive.
